In This Role, You Would

  • Serve as the primary link between Production and Sales to ensure customer needs are met and lines continue running efficiently
  • Develop and manage production schedules for Line 1 & 2, sander, and saw to maximize utilization and productivity
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate plant inventory while keeping overall inventory lean
  • Ensure orders are completed accurately and shipped on time
  • Provide daily reports and updates to mill management and Sales (inventory levels, order file, forecasts, readies/lates)
  • Coordinate with trucking companies to arrange timely shipment of finished goods and follow up on commitments
  • Oversee shipping personnel to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient loading of orders
  • Manage payroll and departmental budget for the shipping department
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping and finished goods warehouse environment
  • Uphold company safety standards, attend safety trainings, and model company vision, mission, and business principles

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders and navigating around equipment
  • Cold and Hot weather exposure
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods in environments with dust, noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders, manlifts, and other access equipment

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience in production scheduling, shipping/logistics, or inventory coordination
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supervising or leading teams in an operational setting

Preferred

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
  • Experience with production planning and scheduling software or ERP systems
  • Prior experience coordinating transportation and working with trucking vendors
  • Budget oversight or departmental cost management experience
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and lean manufacturing principles
  • OSHA training (10-hour or higher)
  • Experience in wood products or heavy manufacturing environments
