Description of Essential Duties

  • Maintains and supports the Vision and Mission of our organization through the sponsorship of developed Business Principles
  • Leads by example and works with others to ensure area goals, action plans, standards and guidelines are set, implemented, and followed up on as required
  • Shares with coordinator team on-call coverage for the mill
  • Supports ARP (Asset Reliability Process) implementation
  • Is responsible for succession planning for areas of ownership
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings, including good facilitation skills

 

Personnel Development & Support

  • Coach technicians
  • Involve teams and individuals on a broad range of decision making processes
  • Ensures areas of ownership and hold personnel to correct level of accountability
  • Provides daily leadership and organization to the maintenance team
  • Asses business needs and develop personal development  plans to support those needs
  • Establish clear expectations for maintenance employees and see that these expectations are carried out

 

Facility Support

  • Support ARP program for mill
  • Responsible to maintain high levels of reliability on the plant equipment and systems within control
  • Tracks, reconciles, scrubs and details downtime to identify opportunities
  • Participates in down day work and down day planning meetings.  Participates in shutdown planning meetings
  • Support during Major Outages and down days
  • Prioritize Maintenance requests as needed
  • Develop and manage capital projects as needed
  • Manage the electrical work order backlog
  • Machine Center Optimization
  • Oversee daily electrical work
  • Ensure all new and existing installations meet code requirements

 

Key Safety 

 

  • Ability to lead implementation of safety improvements
  • Takes all reasonable measures to prevent incidents and coach staff to understand the impact they can make on a safer work environment.  Talk safety at each meeting
  • Lead electricians in the practice of NFPA70E, electrical safety in the workplace
  • Participate and hold expectations for team members to actively participate in BBS initiatives

 

Rquired Knowledge

  • Able to lead people in a variety of maintenance activities 
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects and manage key business metrics
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation processes
  • Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, CAD
  • Familiarity with SAP a benefit
  • Ability to manage projects, both timelines and budget
  • Ability to establish relationships to enhance mill wide initiatives
  • Must possess effective written, oral and listening skills
  • Hold Electrical License
