PURPOSE
Drive continuous improvement in Uptime through a coordinated approach making use of condition assessment PM’s (vibration, infrared), lubrication/oil analysis services, risk identification and control, equipment history, proactive maintenance practices (laser alignment/ balancing), and specific equipment reliability improvements (de-bottlenecking).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the implementation, ongoing use and development of a plant wide Vibration Analysis, Lubrication, Oil analysis, Laser Alignment, NDT and Thermography programs.
- Provides support, coaching, performance feedback and resource support for the Reliability group in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a Risk Priority list that serves to direct resources and energy for best pay pack opportunity.
- Regularly review the PM backlog for work under ownership (vibration, lubrication, thermography) and highlights deficiencies to area leads.
- Supports area maintenance leads by leading critical risk management and reliability improvement projects.
- Responsible for recordkeeping and follow up action from plant wide NDT inspections.
- Leads standardization of proactive maintenance practices such as machine balancing, shaft alignment, sheave alignment, and belt tensioning.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining equipment history profiles for high-risk items.
- Responsible for developing a rebuild documentation system to record repair details and set standard expectations.
- Champions best practices and continuous improvement in Proactive, Predictive and PM maintenance through regular communication with maintenance leads, maintenance technicians, and production leads by reporting on risk issues, status updates and success recognition.
- Support skill developments Maintenance Technicians through delivering training and delivering technical support.
- Participates in Downday / Shutdown work planning by providing priority updates, procedure details and scheduling considerations for work related to reliability improvements.
- Coordinates with maintenance planners and area maintenance leads to optimize equipment PM’s and work practices in areas of expertise.
- Participates in annual maintenance budgeting by forecasting for PM activities and expenses and for reliability focused maintenance projects.
- Actively participates in operate / maintain principle with hands on support in the field.
- Promotes a safe and compliant work environment through effective housekeeping, hazard identification, lockout certification support, and adherence by all employees and contractors to mill safety policies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical or Electrical Technologist or Engineer.
- Minimum 2 years’ Industrial Maintenance experience with installation and repair of equipment.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical components.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with maintenance teams, vendors, and management.
- Knowledge and experience of non-destructive testing / inspection procedures and vibration analysis.
- Knowledge of maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset.
- Effective at time management and Process Mapping to recognize bottlenecks, productivity loss, and duplication.
- Proficiency in identifying maintenance issues, troubleshooting, and making informed decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance technicians, engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve reliability goals.
- Proficiency in analyzing maintenance data, performance metrics, and trends to make data-driven decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing maintenance priorities and unexpected situations.
- Possesses a willingness to learn and grow through experiences.
- Strong attention to detail and belief in continuous improvement.
This position is to backfill an upcoming retirement and offers an attractive compensation package with a gain and profit-sharing plan, as well as an excellent Health/Dental and Pension Plan and very supportive team-based work environment. The pay range for the position is $105,000 - $115,000 annually. Artificial intelligence is not used in the screening and assessment of applications submitted for this position.
