Production Technician

SUMMARY

Safely and efficiently producing MDF panels within parameters created for that specific product.  A Production Technician is a crucial part of the operation with a great deal of responsibility in making product within specification, assuring quality, focus on machine efficiency to meet and or exceed our customer’s expectations.  Here at Arauco SSM we respect people and value every team member’s contribution.  We empower and trust our team and expect them to run and improve the business.  By working as a team, we believe we can move forward faster and reach higher.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Most technician positions run our process with human-machine interface (HMI) – control machinery through automated computer programs on a control panel.
• Complete daily rounds for all equipment in the area and complete preventative maintenance. 
• Attend and actively participate in team business meetings.
• Assist team in making good business decisions.
• Perform quality inspections and document results.

REQUIREMENTS

• Post-Secondary Education or 3 years of related work experience are preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts that support a 24/7 operation.
• Must have a valid G2 license.
• Excellent Safety work habits and knowledge, always wearing proper PPE.
• Seeking people with a positive attitude and behaviour.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects, materials and equipment up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work from heights. Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures.

This position offers an attractive compensation package with a gain and profit-sharing plan, as well as an excellent Health/Dental and Pension Plan and very supportive team-based work environment. The starting rate of pay for the position is $26.95 per hour plus shift premiums.
