REGIONAL SAFETY LEADER

How does this role fit into the success of our organization? 

Our Regional Safety Leader is instrumental in promoting and cultivating a safety-first culture at Arauco. We are seeking someone with strong project management and team-building skills to lead our safety practice for the North American region (US and Canada).  

This individual will: 

• Lead our North American safety programs to ensure we provide a safe work environment, managing our various programs and projects to ensure their effectiveness in driving a safe workplace 

• Design and implement safety training programs to ensure our employees have the skills and knowledge to be safe every day 

• Monitor the health of our safety metrics, KPIs, and systems to ensure we are successfully contributing to a safe working environment; analyze trends, identify root cause issues, and enact solutions to improve these metrics 

• Build an effective safety team - providing coaching and support, providing learning and development, and facilitating the team development of the Safety Managers across our manufacturing sites 

• Find ways to effectively engage our workforce in being an active participant in our health and safety programs and culture 

What are we looking for? 

• Knowledgeable  

• Bachelors Degree in Safety preferred 

• Experienced  

• 5+ years working in safety in a manufacturing environment 

• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale projects from beginning to end, preferably related to safety 

• Effective  

• Track record of successfully implemented projects with positive impacts on the business 

• Demonstrated ability to influence others and manage change effectively 

• History of building effective teams 

• Strong communication and presentation skills 

• Technologically savvy, with skills in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

• Collaborative  

• Collaboration is key to Arauco’s success. This role requires collaboration with our Plant Managers, Safety Managers, operations and maintenance teams, and training team to be successful.
