How does this role fit into the success of our organization?

 

The Finance Manager is an integral member of the Mill Leadership Team and the North American Finance Team. They are the primary representative of the Finance Group at the mill and an active member of the mill management team responsible for enhancing the value of the site. 

 

This individual will:

  • Manage the mill Finance team/direct reports, ensuring that all members have goals and objectives and are actively working towards them.
  • Work with the Cost Accountant to train/educate the mill on standard cost inputs and site focal points in SAP.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including but not limited to wood and additive reconciliations.
  • Serve as the site’s Administrative Lead and manage PR approvals.
  • Coordinate month-end closing and report site information (inventories, production, accruals, etc.) to the accounting team.
  • Review the mill financial statement and analyze actual variances against standards.
  • Communicate monthly results to the mill management team. 
  • Regularly review the mill VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) system queue and GRIR (Goods Received/Invoice Received) report to ensure timely vendor payment and recording of expense.
  • Develop reporting tools to support value enhancement. 
  • Participate in the quarterly forecasting process for the mill to ensure timely and accurate information. 
  • Be responsible for annual property tax returns and various required tax incentive filings.
  • Manage any energy management, environmental, or other incentive program compliance- including tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare financial analysis and decision support on capital projects and operating postures. 
  • Maintain accuracy of the mill fixed asset ledger.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and being followed at the mill, and that all required SOX verifications are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that all accounting-related policies and procedures are being followed at the mill.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the management team to facilitate optimal decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audit processes as required.
  • Handle ad hoc reporting as required by mill personnel.
  • Regularly review financial information with key stakeholders.
  • Take on Special Projects as assigned by Mill Management, Operations Controller, and the Corporate Controller’s office.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings.
  • Develop and maintain individual and company goals.

 

What are we looking for?

 

Knowledgeable 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and/or recognized Professional Accounting Designation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Must understand the difference between total cost and cost per unit and their respective values in spotting trends.
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements.

 

Experienced 

  • Prior experience with finance/accounting, product costing, and using SAP in a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Knowledge of pivot tables and advanced formulas highly preferred)

Effective 

  • Strong organization and analytical skills – including the ability to solve algebraic variables.
  • Ability to take a general question, dig through detailed data, and deliver a meaningful, concise, written, or oral report that drives positive business decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a team-based, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills- this role involves preparing and delivering presentations for team meetings.

 

Collaborative 

  • Collaboration is key to Arauco’s success. This role requires the ability to travel as required for System Training and Other Initiatives requiring finance representation and collaboration with our mill and corporate teams to be successful.
