Production Technician/Forklift Operator – Bennettsville, SC

ENTRY RATE: $19.54
Entry level Production Technicians will be responsible for operating automated strapping machines and safely operating forklifts to both stage product on the line as well as remove product and store it in our warehouse.
When You Will Work
FULL TIME position that allows flexibility during the week and on the weekends. We support a 12-hour rotating shift that is only scheduled to work half of the year! FULL week off EACH month!
What You Will Support
- Safety is our top priority. We take pride in knowing our employees go home as safely as they came in. You will report all safety incidents (including near misses). Lockout tag out will be used to ensure safety while working on machines or other equipment. You will be responsible for completing rolling stock operator safety checklist sheets at start of each shift. Always use downtime for housekeeping duties to prevent hazards.
- Quality is an important part of the production process, falling under Safety. You will closely monitor product for quality concerns and communicate issues with appropriate team members for effective resolution. Complete LIMS quality checks in AMS. You will operate forklift- requires constantly getting on and off the forklift throughout the entire shift and demands exceptional hand and eye coordination.
- Technicality - Complete product changes through efficient and effective operation at the bander and in-feed positions, placing runners in the runner dispenser. Requires constant bending, twisting and lifting throughout the shift. In-feed preparing units for consumption removing banding, tickets, corner protectors, runners and restacking runners for reuse. There are times when employee may have to remove entire boards from stack with assistance from another team member. Maintain banding equipment and work with maintenance team members to keep equipment in good working order and resolve any issues. Assist in the development of and follow SOP’s and JHA’s.
- Adaptability. You will set-up and operate bander computer and ticket printer while constantly monitoring equipment and process. In-feed staging units, following picklist, consuming tickets to order and printing take back tickets. Communicate with the incoming shift concerning bander issues, quality issues, production order running, AMS consumption, detail, reconcile and any other information. Complete paperwork and computer entries for ticket data and pass down information. This includes accurately documenting downtime with a detailed description of the issues.
- Communication with Supervisor, Lead Tech, Press Operator, Lay-up Operator and Lift Driver regarding production. Communicate effectively through the utilization of electronic mail. This includes checking and responding to emails during each shift as required.
- Flexibility is key to support and work on other shifts as needed. This position may require other duties and responsibilities as needed.

- Experienced: We prefer prior use of a forklift (12 months) and prior work in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable: You must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Resourceful: You can read, analyze, and interpret business documents. You can do fundamental mathematics as it pertains to your position. You can interpret instructions in written, oral or diagram formats.
- Safe: You wear a hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs and hi-visibility gear and follow safety rules and procedures. Climbing on and off forklift.
- Strong: Must lift 50 lbs and walk/stand for a minimum of 12 hours. Walking up and down stairs and throughout the mill for 12 hours
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
- Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
- Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures
