PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To ensure that all maintenance work is planned and scheduled, and all applicable data is captured and /or verified for accuracy in accordance with Asset Reliability Process (ARP) guidelines, with a view to achieving a high degree of mill reliability.
Owns the administration of CMMS system for areas of responsibility.
Provides effective planning and scheduling of maintenance related work, downday activities, and major shutdowns.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Has full and vested ownership of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Works within the adopted guidelines of the ARP process.
- Has complete understanding and knowledge of the Work Practices section of the ARP Manual.
- Actively and effectively facilitates all Planning and Scheduling meetings.
- Ensures that all data entered input in the CMMS is accurate and complete. Enters Work Orders as required and is a coach for others on the proper entering of such Orders.
- Works with procurement to ensure timelines and availability of parts are met.
- Works with upstream and downstream customers (Procurement, Stores, maintenance staff, Supervisors, Operating personnel) to ensure appropriate recording and correctness of work details. Prepares and maintains adequate and accurate documentation.
- Reviews downtime issues and identifies recurring maintenance issues seeking and applying resolution (i.e. Increase PM Frequency, identify mean time between failures and adjust rebuild schedule etc.)
- Participates in down day work as assigned.
- Champions the Bill of Materials (BOM) process.
- Cross checks and Rectifies equipment and spare parts data.
- Create complete and detailed job plans for work as specified in ARP.
- Plans all maintenance down day and major maintenance work.
- Down Days / Shutdowns
- Schedules resources against planned work and PM’s by priority.
- Identifies the critical path for planning areas.
- Provides time lines for work activities
- Provides direction to contractors and staff.
- Manages the time line for area.
- Supports the successful execution of work.
- Ensures milestones are established and communicated.

- Key participant with Dept. Head(s) for planning meetings
- Is the ‘quarterback’ for down day and shutdown planning meetings.
- Maintains weekly, monthly and yearly calendars of scheduled maintenance outages.
- Effectively communicates upcoming maintenance activities with area owners.
- Scopes upcoming work to ensure all needs are met for the safe, successful and timely completion of jobs.
- Coaches personnel to provide information related to CMMS system. (Work request info, actual hours, job plan details, etc)
- Identifies special safety considerations for planned work.
- Ensures planned work is always “ready” such that department heads and coordinators can schedule opportunity work.
- Maintains discipline to minimize “break-in” work.
- Coaches personnel on the appropriate time lines and protocol to organize and schedule down days and shutdowns.
- Closes competed Work Orders in CMMS system. Ensures appropriate data is entered including actual hours, pertinent comments, updating of job plans, failure codes. Etc.
- Liaison for Contractors to support the planning process for identified contractor jobs.
- Provides direction to contractors as required.
- Provides coverage for crew meetings
- Ensure all contractors that are brought onsite have met the Arauco contractor expectations and are current in the Contractor Tracking database
- Issues contractor work permits.
- As assigned, participates in the development of LOTO procedures for new and existing equipment
- Participates in mill safety audits.
- Deliver Contractor Safety Orientations.
- Shares in the general housekeeping appearance of the Planning/Scheduling office
- As assigned, stays current in Area Specific Orientations, Lockout Certification, & training that are specific to Maintenance areas.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Related electrical or mechanical degrees would be considered
- Strong emphasis on E&I Planning experience is an asset given the high degree of automation in the facility.
- Maintenance Planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Strong administrative skills to utilize CMMS system, typing, and Microsoft Word, Excel, & Microsoft Project programs
- Knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment, including all the related terminologies.
- Have a good understanding of our safety policies and job safe practices.
- Ability to independently multitask, good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective at time management and Process Mapping to recognize bottlenecks, productivity loss, and duplication.
- Must have focus on continuous improvement
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, and Word, basic knowledge of Excel, Project

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides estimates and costs for planned work.
- Administers and tracks costs for activities scheduled.
- Works to minimize contractor costs
- Ensure that work planned and scheduled falls within budgetary constraints
- Track major maintenance outage costs for future reference.
