3rd Shift SHIPPING TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY
3rd Shipping Technician to safely and efficiently locate and load product on trucks and rail cars per customer orders.
Shift Schedule: 11pm-7am (Sunday night- Thursday night)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load all types of trucks, railcars, boxcars and preloads per orders
- Inspect every load for quality
- Scan tickets of units being loaded and verify contents of load against the tickets
- Assist with checking in trucks and communicate loading procedure
- Assist with answering the shipping phone and helping callers
- Keep loading area and truck warehouse clean
- Maintain shipping supplies and unload supplies as necessary
- Keep forklift clean and maintained (inspected)
- Diagram box cars, bill export cars, clean-out boxcars and check cars for damage, and maintain railroad log book
- Keep “Move Orders” up-to-date
- Actively participate in any problem-solving meetings and positively contribute to improving the process on a daily basis
- Communicate verbally and by e-mail
- Understanding of load weights for trucks and proper load placements
- Blocking/Strapping vans when required
- Working knowledge of all company principles and policies in sufficient detail to advise/coach all staff on their application
- Ability to identify quality issues and react to them accordingly
- Maintain forklift certification
- Keep loading area (van dock and around pump), truck warehouse, car tracks and truck parking lot clean
REQUIREMENTS
- Effectively communicate verbally and by e-mail
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
- Forklift experience required
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment (cold/hot)
- Ability to walk up and down stairs throughout a working shift
- ability to work a rotating shift
- Cannot currently be in a training role
- cannot have certified in a n advanced role withing the past 6 months
- no disciplinary actions within past 12 months (includes warnings for attendnace)
Physical Requirements

Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.

Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.

Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.

Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures
