ARAUCO is looking for a Training Coordinator for one of it North American Mills located in * Albany, OR *

 

What is expected of this position?

 

The Training Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and facilitation of employee training and development programs.

 

The Training Coordinator will lead new hire orientations, track employee’s development, administer testing for applicants, upgrade job descriptions, develop better interview processes and develop new training for current employees. The Training Coordinator will also plan and coordinate employee and community events. The training Coordinator will flow thru to the position of Production Coordinator, providing covering any absences. 

 

The main functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts a needs analysis with the workforce and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed with leadership in all areas of the manufacturing facility including production, maintenance, computer, software skills, etc.
  • Identify Training vendors who can meet the needs of the organization Research training vendors and materials as needed – including details, cost comparison, and timelines.
  • Identifies Subject Matter Experts who can help the TPRC evaluate Training Vendors, to ensure that the best training is brought in to meet the needs of the Mill
  • Write training proposals and coordinate and organize logistics for training delivery
  • Gather feedback on training effectiveness and aggregate data for the purpose of analysis to improve individual/team performance
  • Speak at various departmental, town halls, and business meetings regarding the training and development effort at the manufacturing facility
  • Provides timely communication to all teams regarding the progress of the Training and Development process
  • Works with area specific coordinators and coaches to identify and coordinate training needed. Manage employee training records, including following up with delinquent training
  • Work with HR Manager to coordinate new hire orientation and other training needs as developed
  • Proven ability to work within the community, upholding the reputation of the company in a positive way while choosing projects that benefit both the organization and the community
  • Leading the wellness initiatives for the Mill
  • Partner with the Coordinators to assess training and development needs and assist with implementation of initiatives to identified gaps based in part on employees’ goals, performance evaluations, skill sets and surveys.
  • Work with Coordinators to identify internal movement opportunities, career paths, cross training, succession planning as well as talent acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Advise employees on training opportunities and development.
  • Assist Production Coordinators map training plans for Teams
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
  • Track and report on training outcomes
  • Work with the employees to coordinate and participate in community activities and involvement
  • Maintain employee training records Maintains and manages a training tracking process, enters data, tracks completion and processes communication.
  • Create, maintain and contribute to a collection of training materials/database (video, library, job aids, manuals and FAQ’s)
  • Conduct random training audits to check “retention of knowledge”.

Knowledgeable

  • Bachelor degree or evidence of continual work toward a degree strongly preferred – candidates without a degree should have a high school diploma and 4 or more years of relevant experience

Experienced

  • Must have MS Office experience — experience making Excel spreadsheets, making PowerPoints, generating graphs or charts
  • Ability to complete full training cycle
  • Must have organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments — good time management skills

Team oriented

  • Great communication skills (both verbal and written). Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal plus organization and presentation skills
